Asin Thottumkal is born on October 26, 1985 to a businessman father Joshep and doctor mother Seline in Malayalam speaking family in Kochi.
She did her schooling from Naval Public School in Cochin and joined St. Theresa's Higher Secondary School for her higher secondary education. As she successfully completed her schooling, she then joined St. Theresa's College and chooses English Literature as the main subject. As she graduated, she started assisting her father in his business involving software sell, furniture and antiques export. While doing so, she started her modeling career and bagged the assignments for Colgate toothpaste and Fairever cream.
Asin Thottumkal is a beauty with brain and is a linguistic expert. She has strong hold on languages like Malyalam, Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Sanskrit, English, and French. She may be the only Indian actress with a Blogspot in French. She is a voracious reader and has huge collection of books. Asin remains actively involved in various functions throughout Southern India and credits her good upbringing to her parents, who she considers her role models.
Career in Movies
Asin’s talent was soon recognized and she was approached by director Sathyan Anthikad and she made a debut role in Narendaran Makan, a Malayalam film opposite to Malayalyee actor Kunjachacko Boban. Initially, this movie was not that successful at box office, but the breakthrough as an actress came with her first Telugu language film when she played the role of a Tamil girl in the successful Amma Nanna O Tamila Ammayi opposite Ravi Teja. The movie was a super hit. What makes Asin hot in the Tamil film industry, apart from her looks, is that she has teamed up with all the top heroes such as Vijay, Ajith, Surya, and Vikram.
As her career boom in Tollywood and Kollywood, she along with her parents shifted to Asin, along with her mom and dad, have left their Harrington Road apartment at Chetpet, Chennai, and have re-located to an apartment in Lokhandwala Complex, in Andheri (West), Mumbai, so that she could pursue her career in Bollywood too. Since she has received up-marked success in regional movies, it remains to be seen if her success will continue in Bollywood as well.
